Editorial: Temas contemporáneos de historia del derecho en Iberoamérica

Cuando Carlos Manuel Villabella y Omar M. Gallardo me invitaron a colaborar con la prestigiosa Revista IUS como editor huésped para coordinar un dossier consagrado a la historia del derecho en Iberoamérica, no dudé en aceptar ante la reciente y notable producción que la disciplina ha tenido en los últimos diez años. Justo en el año 2008, en el marco del primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Historia del Derecho sostenido en la ciudad de Puebla, iniciamos la constitución del Instituto Latinoamericano de Historia del Derecho (Ilahd) con destacados académicos de España y América Latina, con el objetivo expreso de consolidar una disciplina que no parecía encajar ni en los programas de las facultades de derecho ni en las de historia.
