The relationship between family and religious freedom: Contours and challenges

Authors

Abstract

“The Relationship Between Family and Religious Freedom: Contours and Challenges” brings together the proceedings of the XXIII Annual Colloquium of the Latin American Consortium for Religious Freedom, held in 2024 at the University of Notre Dame. The book offers a broad and current perspective on how recent social and legal changes have transformed the link between family life and religious freedom in various countries of Latin America, the United States, and Europe.

Through a comparative approach, specialists from multiple regions analyze the challenges that currently define this relationship and examine how different national realities confront the tensions arising from these transformations. The chapters, from complementary perspectives, reveal emerging challenges and the alternatives that are opening up to strengthen coexistence in increasingly pluralistic societies.

An essential work for those seeking to understand the contemporary landscape surrounding family, religious freedom, and their relevance in democratic life.
