The Price of Faith: Legal and Social Consequences of Religious Discrimination

Abstract

This article examines the legal and social consequences of religious discrimination in a global context, with emphasis on South America, Europe, Africa, the East and Asia. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, the impacts of discrimination on various aspects of individual and community life are explored, as well as legislative and legal responses at the international level.

The study highlights the intersectionality of religious discrimination with other forms of discrimination and proposes strategies to foster tolerance and understanding of religious diversity. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of openness in everyday interactions as a basis for social change and the prevention of broader conflicts. The article concludes with recommendations for addressing religious discrimination at the individual and systemic levels, underlining the need for education, awareness-raising and inclusive policies.
